This course is designed to provide participants with up to date public health advice and to ensure that they have been sufficiently trained on the measures to be taken to ensure safe working practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This course is designed to provide participants with up to date public health advice and to ensure that they have been sufficiently trained on the measures to be taken to ensure safe working practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will also assist the employer and employee in meeting their legal obligations and the conditions outlined in the COVID-19 Return to Work Safely Protocol published by the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation on the 8th May 2020.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

 

  • List the sources of public health advice in relation to COVID-19
  • Understand the applicable legislation
  • Recognise the signs, symptoms and spread of COVID-19
  • Describe the procedures to be taken in the event of a suspected case of COVID-19 in the workplace including isolation areas, contact log and pre-return to work form
  • List the controls measures for COVID-19 including social, distancing, signage, hand hygiene and cough and sneeze etiquette
